Student walking over bridge

The Department of Land Economy is dedicated to ensuring that the best and the brightest students from across the world have the opportunity to study Land Economy, regardless of their background. Our Schools Liaison Co-ordinator, Mrs Ali Lyons, works to achieve this goal by helping students to be in the best possible position to make a strong application.

What is Outreach?

“To me, ‘outreach’ is about giving all students the opportunity to access a fantastic education and a bright future. I believe it starts with understanding your options. I hope to dispel misconceptions about Cambridge, life at University, and the Land Economy degree. There are too many students who think that Cambridge is not for them because of something they saw on TV or in a movie, or who dismiss Land Economy without really knowing what the degree involves.

“I want to help give students all the information they need to make an informed decision and a confident next step. Land Economy at Cambridge is not for everyone—for that matter, neither is university. But for many students, this unique multidisciplinary degree is the opportunity of a lifetime. By helping to provide information about university options, the Cambridge application process, and possible career paths, I hope to give students the self-confidence and the knowledge they need to put their best foot forward, whatever path they choose.”

 –Ali Lyons, Schools Liaison Co-ordinator

Ali serves as the Department’s first point of contact for any questions from teachers, advisors, or schools about Land Economy at Cambridge. If you are interested in learning more, you can arrange for Ali to come speak to your school about topics like:

  • Land Economy: Course Overview
  • Applying to Land Economy
  • Interviews and Personal Statements
  • Career Options following a degree in Land Economy

Alternatively, if you’re already organising an event such as a careers fair, subject taster day, or teachers’ session, contact Ali about involving the Department of Land Economy your event. For more information, .
