The conference was held at majestic buildings of King's College Cambridge and was attended by over 140 delegates from academia and the policy world and provided the opportunity to exchange information on the latest developments on the economics of biodiversity management and conservation. This year's keynote speakers were Professor Christian Gollier (Toulouse School of Economics) and Professor James Salzman (Duke University). Further, special policy sessions were held on "Climate Change and Ecosystem Services" and "Natural Capital Accounting, Biodiversity and Ecosystems". Lastly, an important pre-conference training workshop was held (co-organised with the UNEP) on "Building Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services into National Policy" attended by over 100 delegates primarily from the developing world whilst the training seminars were provided by BioEcon scientific partners.
