Professor Philip Arestis has been invited by Professors Joseph Stiglitz and Jean-Paul Fitousi to join the Paris Group  of internationally leading economists with a commitment to working to ensure the improvement in the system of global  economic governance. The Group was constituted at the invitation of Nicholas Sarkozy, the President of The French Republic, who also presides over the agenda for the G20 in 2011.  The Group builds on the  work of the UN Commission of Experts on Reforming the International Financial and Monetary System and has produced a report that summarizes discussions and recommendations to the President of the French Republic on the G20 agenda
