Lisa Whitehouse is Professor of Property Law, Policy and Practice at the University of Southampton. She graduated from Hull in 1993 with a First Class Honours Degree in Law and completed her PhD examining the law of mortgage in 1999. She moved to the Law School at Southampton in January 2022.

 

She has written extensively on the practical operation of housing possession cases and recently completed an ESRC funded project examining the court system’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic in housing possession cases (see https://homematters.wordpress.hull.ac.uk/). Her next project, funded by the abrdn Financial Fairness Trust, will explore the issue of occupier engagement in the arrears and possession process.
