New Economics of Decarbonising the Global Economy (NewEDGE)

Aim: To develop the first large-scale econometric model of the global energy-environment-economy (E3) system, which is validated against past E3 data, and which can explain emissions histories just as large-scale climate models can explain past weather patterns.

The validated model will be used to investigate the effectiveness, efficiency and equity of policy portfolios that could rapidly decarbonise the global economy.

E3MG model
A major first stage in the NewEDGE project is to collate first class documentation of the E3MG model and make it available on-line.

Advisory group
The project will appoint an advisory group, to advise on how and where to effectively disseminate our research. This group has yet to be formed.
