Research Interests Professor Whitehead's research interests are mainly in the fields of housing and urban economics, housing finance and policy and more general issues of privatisation and regulation. She is an Honorary Associate member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. She acted as specialist advisor to the Environment Select Committee in 1995/96. In 1991, she was awarded the OBE for services to housing.
