Kelvin has research interests in localism and planning, including work for the Royal Town Planning Institute; national policy on energy and transport, including work for the House of Commons Transport and Energy and Climate Change Select Committees; affordable housing, including work for Shelter; sustainable housing, including work for the DCLG/TCPA; integrating strategies, including work for Manchester and Sheffield City Councils; global urbanisation, including speaking at the 2006 and 2008 UN-HABITAT World Urban Forums; and planning skills including work for the CLG Select Committee and for South East Excellence.
