The Centre for Resilience and Sustainable Development CRSD at the University of Cambridge is hosting the 15th  Sinews of Development speakers series special online event to discuss the ongoing crisis in Sudan.

 

The Forgotten War: Sudan in Crisis will be held on Wednesday, November 27th, 2024.

 

Join us for a critical discussion featuring a distinguished panel of experts, including:

 

Dr. Abdalla Hamdok, Former Prime Minister of Sudan

Jan Egeland, Secretary General of the Norwegian Refugee Council

Rein Paulsen, Director, Office of Emergencies and Resilience, Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)

Dr. Shadia Taha, Research Fellow, School of Global Studies and International Development, University of Sussex, Governing Body Fellow Wolfson College, Affiliated Research Scholar McDonald Institute For Archaeological Research, University of Cambridge.

 

Chaired by Rt Hon Andrew Mitchell MP, former Minister of State (Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office) and Dr Nazia Habib, Founder and Research Director of the Centre for Resilience and Sustainable Development.

 

This event will explore the roots of the conflict, its devastating impact on civilians, and potential solutions for peace and stability. You'll have the opportunity to hear directly from leading voices and ask questions during the Q&A session.
