Department of Land Economy

Environment, Law & Economics

One reason we as a department were awarded Platinum for Green Impact in 2020 was because we were particularly successful in promoting sustainable procurement initiatives.

Catering both for internal meetings and external events is sourced in line with the University's Sustainable Food Policy, which is championed by our award-winning University Catering Service.

Before our building was closed last March due to the Coronavirus lockdowns, we ran frequent awareness campaigns about sustainable food including our popular "No Packaging Lunch" organised by Hayley.  Staff and students were encouraged to bring in and share homemade dishes or locally sourced food.

Course Changes 2020-21

The Department of Land Economy can confirm that there are no changes to the courses it is offering in 2020-21 in the BA, the MPhil in Planning, Growth and Regeneration and the MPhil in Real Estate Finance. In the MPhil in Environmental Policy, modules EP03 (Environmental Values) and EP09 (Rural Environment: Property, Planning and Policy) will not run, but module EP07 (Comparative and European Environmental Law and Policy) will return.
