Fixed term Research Assistant at CCHPR

Land Economy

Research Assistant

The Department of Land Economy is looking to appoint a research assistant to join its team of researchers in the Cambridge Centre for Housing and Planning Research (CCHPR). We look at all aspects of housing, planning and land use and conduct research for a range of funders. Our team works collegially on multiple research projects, both long and short term, the majority of which are policy-oriented.

The Research Assistant will work on a 12 month programme of innovative research in collaboration with Places for People. Places for People is a large scale placemaking and regeneration business, committed to the long term sustainability of places for people at all stages of life. Working with key stakeholders, experts and opinion formers to explore key issues of concern to Places for People and the wider housing sector, the researcher will be the lead author for a series of bespoke reports which aim to shape the development of products and services, and influence housing policy and practice across the UK.

If you are a confident, self-motivated researcher with a postgraduate degree in a "research heavy" subject with a high volume of written work (e.g. Planning/Geography/ Economics/Law/Politics/Sociology), and academic experience of the macro-economy or the UK housing market, we'd love to hear from you.

Informal enquiries about this post should be directed to Dr Gemma Burgess on or 01223 764547. Interviews are scheduled for Monday 14 October 2019 and the closing date for applications is 23 September 2019.
