We are seeking to appoint a full-time Departmental Assistant for one year in the first instance to work in our busy department in 19 Silver Street. The role holder will be solely responsible for the management of the visiting scholar process among other duties. This will include ensuring that they are up to date with immigration guidelines and staying in close contact with the compliance team to ensure that the correct procedure is being followed throughout. The role holder will also be the Departments Green Impact Coordinator and is responsible for organising and responding to best practice principles across the Department and with its staff. The role holder will be responsible for the production of the MPhil timetables and the booking of rooms in time for the Michaelmas Term. A key aspect of this role will be hot-desking and helping with any administrative tasks as assigned by the Administrative Officer and other staff members.

The successful candidate will be an approachable person with excellent communication skills, a strong eye for detail and an exceptional ability to work both independently, as well as part of a team. The candidate will have a strong sense of proactivity with regards to their workload and will be able to organise their workload with minimal supervision. A flexible approach is essential and a willingness and desire to develop an understanding of the activities of the Department of Land Economy.

The post is full-time working Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.00pm each week.
