Senior Teaching Associate (Fixed Term)

Department of Land Economy

The Department of Land Economy welcomes applications for a Teaching Fellow in Real Estate Finance and Economics. This post is intended to strengthen and coordinate the educational work of the Department of Land Economy, especially in the delivery of our undergraduate and graduate programmes. The taught programmes in the Department of Land Economy are multi-disciplinary, drawing on the disciplines of law, economics, planning and urban social science. We have an undergraduate programme that reflects that applied, multi-disciplinary focus; taught Masters programmes in Environmental Policy, Planning, Growth & Regeneration; Real Estate; and Real Estate Finance; and an extensive doctoral programme. The department's research analyses the role and use of land, real estate and environment within an economy, focussing on markets, governance and regulation. Typically, it is applied, policy-relevant and much of it is empirical in nature. The Department has research clusters in Real Estate and Urban Analysis and in Environmental Policy and Regulation and a number of active research centres including, the Cambridge Centre for Environment, Energy and Natural Resource Governance, the Cambridge Centre for Housing and Planning Research, the Cambridge Centre for Property Law, the Cambridge Real Estate Research Centre and the Rural Business Unit.

The Teaching Fellow will be expected to teach on our undergraduate and post-graduate programmes in areas related to their expertise; to make a general contribution to the running and management of the Department; and be encouraged to undertake internationally-leading research in one or more of the disciplinary areas in Land Economy applied to real estate markets, to urban and regional economic development and/or to financial markets; to identify sources of funding for such research and to build on and expand our network of contacts working in those areas.

One year in the first instance, extending to three years fixed term.
