University Lecturer

Department of Land Economy

The Department of Land Economy is seeking to employ a Lecturer in Housing and Planning Policy who will be
expected to undertake internationally-leading research in the fields of housing, planning and/or regeneration
with a focus on areas aligned to the work of the Department; to identify sources of funding for such research
and to build on and expand our network of contacts working in those areas; to teach on our undergraduate and
post-graduate programmes in areas related to their expertise; and to make a general contribution to the running
and management of the Department.

This post is intended to strengthen and coordinate the work of the Department of Land Economy in the area of
housing, planning and regeneration. Research in the Department of Land Economy is multi-disciplinary, drawing
on the disciplines of law, economics, planning and urban social science to analyse the role and use of land, real
estate and environment within an economy, focussing on markets, governance and regulation. Our research
work is, typically applied and policy-relevant: much of it is empirical in nature. We have an undergraduate
programme that reflects that applied, multi-disciplinary focus; taught Masters programmes in Environmental
Policy, Planning, Growth & Regeneration; Real Estate; and Real Estate Finance; and an extensive doctoral
programme. The Department has research clusters in Real Estate and Urban Analysis and in Environmental
Policy and Regulation and a number of active research centres including the Cambridge Centre for Housing and
Planning Research, the Cambridge Centre for Environment, Energy and Natural Resource Governance, the
Cambridge Centre for Property Law, the Cambridge Real Estate Research Centre and the Rural Business Unit.
