Dr Davide Luca has been published in the prestigious Journal of Urban Economics.
Dr Luca's article, 'The long shadow of local decline: Birthplace economic adversity and long-term individual outcomes in the UK' was co-authored with Andrew McNeil and Neil Lee.
The research attempts to answer the question of whether growing up in a high-economic adversity area matters for individual economic, cultural, and political views. The findings reveal that being born into a high-unemployment Local Authority area has a significant long-term impact on individuals.
The paper has been published as open access, so can be read for free by anyone.
