Dr Diane Dawson

Diane taught economics in Land Economy in the 1980s and 1990s and was a lively, popular and highly-valued member of the Department, inspiring many with her enthusiasm and breadth of knowledge.  In 1997, she left to take up an appointment as Senior Research Fellow in the Centre for Health Economics, University of York, where she continued her research making a significant contribution to our understanding of efficiency and productivity in health services. She returned to Cambridge in 2006 as a tutor at Corpus and was elected as a life fellow – one of the first two females to be awarded that status. She made a major contribution to the Department and will be remembered and missed in equal part.
