Professor Claire Colomb was one of the keynote speakers at the Opening Session of the 36th Congress of the Association of European Schools of Planning (AESOP) (https://aesop-planning.eu/paris), hosted by Sciences Po Paris on 8-12 July just before the start of the Olympic Games. Her talk, entitled '"Progressive cities", planning and urban policies in an era of political convulsions', discussed the room for manoeuvre (and limits) of European city governments to drive forms of ‘progressive urbanism’ in an increasingly polarised political context.
