Professor Helen Bao hosted a dinner for Cambridge alumni in Hong Kong on the 13th June 2024.
The attendees at the dinner included 16 MPhils in Real Estate Finance, one MSt in Real Estate, two MPhils in Planning, Growth and Regeneration, one MPhil in Land Economy Research, three MBAs from the Judge Business School, and one MPhil in Economics from the Faculty of Economics. Many of them graduated between 2007 and 2009. We also had two current students and one prospective student from the REF cohort. Sir K. K. Chiu, Chief Executive of the Greater China Region of Cushman & Wakefield, also joined our alumni at the dinner. Cushman & Wakefield has been very supportive of the Department by providing employment and training opportunities to our MPhil students over the years.
Our Hong Kong alumni are working in areas such as asset management, investment, investor relations, portfolio management, and research. Their employers include Blackstone, CBRE, Cushman & Wakefield, Invesco, Lasalle Investments, Link REIT, MSCI, Redbox Storage, and Sino Ocean, to name a few.
Miss Vivian Leung (REF 2008) kindly coordinated the alumni dinner in Hong Kong. The Department sponsored the dinner as part of its effort and commitment to supporting the development of our alumni network in Asia. At the dinner, Professor Helen Bao provided an update about recent developments in the Department. There were also discussions about resuming the annual alumni reunion event in the next academic year. The Department is thrilled to see how well our graduates are doing and is committed to supporting their career development. We wish our alumni a prosperous and rewarding journey forward and look forward to catching up with them again in the near future!
