We are delighted that Stephen Ajadi has been awarded a CSAR PhD Students Award for 2023. There were only 12 awards made from more than 130 applications. His work is commended for excellence in research and the significance of its application in African spaces. Stephen is believed to be the first student from the Department of Land Economy to win such an award.

The awards will be presented by Senior Pro-Vice-Chancellor Andy Neely at a reception at Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, on 19th June.

Stephen is currently concluding his PhD at the Department, where he researches the spatial impact of extreme conflict and violence on open spaces in Nigeria and certain areas of the Sahel.

Congratulations to Stephen!
