From the South and London, Cambridge is a short trip up the M11 motorway.  From the North, the A1 and M1 link to the A14 dual carriageway straight to the city, and from the East and West, the A14 again takes you to Cambridge.

Parking facilities are very restricted and are not normally available for visitors to Land Economy.

For short stays the City Centre Car Parks offer great convenience, but for longer visits there are five world class Park & Ride sites located on the outskirts of the City that provide free parking and a swift and frequent bus ride to the City Centre.

Short-term parking for non-guests is also available at the Doubletree Hilton Hotelnearby. 

Mon-Fri entry from 07.00-14.00 = £3.00ph and from 14.00-07.00 = £2.50pm.  Weekends are also £2.50ph.  You will need to get a ticket from the machine on entry to the car park and this must be retained and validated at the pay station before exiting the car park.  Please note payment is by credit/debit card only.

There is a fast and frequent rail service from London King’s Cross & London Liverpool Street through to Cambridge.  There are also excellent connections from Scotland & the North via Peterborough, and regional services from Birmingham & the Midlands, East Anglia & the Northwest.

There is a taxi rank in front of the station, and a bus service that runs frequently from the station into the city centre, look for the Stagecoach buses Citi 1 (Arbury), Citi 3 (Fison Road/Whitehill Estate), or Citi 7 (City Centre) on the left as you exit the station building.

Walking from the station to Land Economy takes 15-20 minutes.  Follow Station Road from the railway station to the War Memorial on Hills Road (the first T junction).  Turn right and follow Hills Road to the Catholic Church (a large stone building on the left) at the corner of Hills Road and Lensfield Road.  Turn left and follow Lensfield Road to the end.  Turn right into Trumpington Street, continue along this road past the Fitzwilliam Museum on your left continue past Little St Mary's Church, shortly after the Emmanuel United Reformed Church turn left onto Silver Street.  Land Economy Reception is at number 19 Silver Street.

Cambridge is within easy reach of London Heathrow, London Gatwick and Birmingham International Airports.  London Stansted is the nearest international airport to Cambridge, located just 30 miles to the South of the city, within easy access by train, coach, or car (M11).

National Express operates coach services to Cambridge.  There is also an X5 cross-country stagecoach service to/from Oxford via Bicester, Buckingham, Milton Keynes and Bedford.

Coaches arrive/depart from Parkside on Parker’s Piece opposite the Police Station, a short walk from Land Economy.  See City Centre map.  Walk along Park Terrace, turn right into St Andrew’s Street and then left into Downing Street/Pembroke Street follow it to the end then turn right (next to the famous Fitzbillie’s café) into Trumpington Street and then immediate left into Silver Street.  Land Economy is the red-framed building on the left.

The Guided Busway offers an innovative and frequent service from Huntingdon to the city centre including stops at the Rail Station and Addenbrookes Hospital.  Park and Ride sites for this service can be found at St Ives, Longstanton and Trumpington.

If you drive/Park & Ride or travel into the city via public transport you may want to cycle to CRERC.  Extensive cycle routes and dedicated cycle lanes criss-cross the city and cycle parking is provided behind Land Economy.  Access is via a brick archway adjacent to the Land Economy building.  Cycle racks are available but do remember to bring your own lock and be careful not to attach your cycle to anyone else’s.  Also be aware of cycle security – you park at your own risk.
