Academic profile

 

Maige Zhao is a PhD candidate in Land Economy, with a research interest in the impact of place-based policies on the spatial distribution of new entrants and the regional economy. Her research examines the interplay between policy, urbanisation and spatial development, aiming to provide insights into how targeted interventions shape local economic landscapes.

 

Prior to her PhD, Maige earned an MPhil in Planning, Growth, and Regeneration (Cantab) and a BSc in Finance. She has also gained valuable practical experience in urban reform and financial sector through her internships at the China Center for Urban Development (CCUD) and China Construction Bank.
