Summary of Research Interests

Ana Paula is a PhD candidate at the University of Cambridge on a Land Economy Department scholarship. Her PhD explores linear, non-linear, self-organizing, and dynamic relations in urban green/blue health through the lens of complexity theory and big data, to achieve new holistic insights about how green and blue spaces’ characteristics impact population health behaviour and health outcomes, using dynamic spatial analysis and agent-based modelling (ABM).

Ana has a BSc in Architecture and Urban Planning (2015) and a MRes in Sustainability of the Built Environment (2018) from the University of Brasília (UnB), Brazil. Before starting the PhD, she worked for the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and for the Brazilian government developing policies aimed at improving urban sustainability. Her main research interests are Urban Green Infrastructure, Urban Health, Urban Planning Methods, Sustainability, Development, Spatial Analysis, Geographic Information System (GIS), Dynamic Simulation, Big Data
