The European Scientific Advisory Board on Climate Change has published a new report entitled 'Towards EU climate neutrality: progress, policy gaps and opportunities'.

The report recommends a series of actions to ensure the EU reaches climate neutrality, some of which require immediate action and others which should be considered when forming the EU's climate policy framework after 2030.

The press release for the report contained the following quote from the Department of Land Economy's Professor Laura Diaz Anadon as one of the co-vice-chairs of the Advisory Board,

"Reaching at least 55% reductions by 2030 will be a crucial milestone on the path towards deeper reductions by 2040 and climate neutrality by 2050 at the latest. For this, Member States should urgently implement the comprehensive set of legislation recently agreed on at the EU level, ensuring that they create incentives that foster a thriving and inclusive net-zero economy."
