Sinews Lecture Series
Our Sinews of Development Series is our popular seminar program that brings together expert practitioners, policy makers, and academics to exchange views on challenging subjects such as sustainable development, peace and conflict, gender rights and education. Past Sinews events have featured distinguished speakers and participants from His Majesty’s Government, UK Parliament, the United Nations, BBC journalists, and world-class academics. We host one Sinews event per academic term.
The CRSD Team attend COP28. 'COP28' refers to the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) held in Dubai, UAE. It is an important milestone in assessing global progress on climate change and emissions reductions. Under the Paris Agreement from COP21, state and international representatives meet to discuss reducing fossil fuel reliance, addressing loss and damage due to climate impacts, climate financing for developing nations and ensuring equity for more climate-vulnerable regions, and so on. Discussion also centers around implementing policy and mechanisms to acheive climate goals.
