Several members of the Department gave talks at a recent Symposium organised jointly by Cambridge Zero and the Global Food Security IRC.

The Symposium, entitled 'Sustainable and Healthy Food Production', aimed to highlight ground-breaking research in the global food security space across the University of Cambridge. It took place in the West Hub on 21st March.

The members of our Department who gave talks were:

  • Deputy Head of Department and Professor of Economic Security and Resilience Shailaja Fennell: 'Forgotten crops and knowledge erasure in communities: addressing the gaps between food production, consumption and nutrition'
  • Postdoctoral researcher Dr Jerry Chen and PhD candidate Elisapeththu Hoole: 'Global tipping points, AI-assisted food productions modelling and policy making in least developed countries'
  • PhD candidate Clara Ma: 'Policy interventions to promote sustainable food consumption'
