Academics from the Department of Land Economy engaged in a range of activities at COP28, which was held in Dubai from 30th November to 13th December.

Professor Harro van Asselt, the new Hatton Professor of Climate Change Law, presented at the Climate Clubs and Border Carbon Adjustments: Strengthening International Cooperation at the Interface of Climate and Trade Policy event, where the Bridging the Divide: Assessing the Viability of International Cooperation on Border Carbon Adjustments report was launched.

He also co-organised and spoke at an official United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) side event.

Ahead of the Conference, he also published a blog entitled How the UNFCCC Can Tackle Fossil Fuel Subsidies at COP 28 and Beyond.
