Academic profile

Dr Vosper completed his PhD in environmental economics in the Department of Land Economy at the University of Cambridge. Supervised by Prof Shaun Larcom and Prof Andreas Kontoleon, his thesis covered both environmental and development economics topics, including microfinance tools for climate risk mitigation. His applied economic research relies on a range of econometric methods to deal with ‘messy’ data. As a supervisor, he has also been involved in supporting the MPhil in Environmental Policy since 2018. In addition to his academic role, Dr Vosper is a lead economist at a climate tech SaaS start-up in Cambridge, where he seeks to quantify the financial risks that businesses face due to climate change. A core component of this work involves navigating the complex transition to net-zero emissions.
