Professor Hui is ranked among the top 2% research scientists (by Stanford University), one of the most highly cited scholars in the field. The fields of study that Professor Hui is best known for include finance, microeconomics and marketing. His primary scientific interests are in economic growth, urbanisation, development economics, and Mainland China. Prof. Eddie C.M. Hui interconnects service and demographic economics in the investigation of issues within economic growth. He has researched development economics in several fields, including rural land, order and social exclusion.

 

His Mainland China research includes themes of regional science and urban agglomeration. His study of econometric model is interdisciplinary in nature, drawing from both quality and real estate. Eddie C.M. Hui has researched real estate in several fields, including econometrics and central government.

 

In his most recent research, the most cited papers focused on finance, microeconomics, and marketing. urbanisation, distribution, urban planning and real estate. His urbanisation study is concerned with the larger field of economic growth. His work is dedicated to discovering how economic growth and instrumental variables are connected with census and demographic economics and other disciplines.

 

His urban planning research is multidisciplinary, incorporating elements of natural resources, amenities and environmental planning. His research integrates issues of economic interventionism, English auction, economic policy, inflation and interest rates in his study of real estate. The study incorporates disciplines such as capitalisation rate and space in addition to econometrics.
