The Department hosted a Subject Masterclass on Friday 22nd March, giving prospective undergraduate students a chance to experience teaching at Cambridge, and understand what it's like to be an undergraduate at the University more generally. In total, 122 students signed up to attend the event.

One of the speakers, Dr Carolin Hoeltken, said of the event:

"Participating in the Land Economy Masterclass was a delight – the students' curiosity was infectious, and their active engagement with the material truly impressed me. It was great to witness their enthusiasm for learning and exploration, particularly as we delved into the intricacies of the housing market."

The Subject Masterclass included talks by two academics from the Department:

  • Professor Shailaja Fennell (Deputy Head of Department and Professor of Economic Security and Resilience) gave a talk entitled 'Cities and Sustainability: the link between public provision and inclusion'.
  • Dr Carolin Hoeltken (Senior Teaching Associate in Real Estate, Economics and Finance) gave a talk entitled 'Of People and Places: Exploring Residential Property Markets'.

Attendees were also given information on how to apply for the BA in Land Economy.
